It's been an awful Winter for fly fishing across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Most of the rivers we fly fish all year long have frozen over. The small areas you can fish are mostly void of fish and the fish that remain are not biting due to the frigid temperatures. I fly fished today with my good friend Kevin O. The recent Winter snow always gives us a fresh, clean look at the river's surroundings. After cutting a new path to the river in search of some Winter steelhead, we found the water to be colder than normal temps for December in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
